Forever Friends

Forever Friends Intergenerational Center addresses the needs of both the oldest and the youngest generations.

Mission
Forever Friends provides a warm, loving, nurturing environment for each child which will encourage him or her to become the unique individual that was intended at birth. The professional staff provides activities to encourage appropriate development of each individual child at his or her own pace, while the senior volunteers enhance the child's day and fill their needs.

Intergenerational Goals
The program is intended:

To benefit children through providing a safe, healthy, and loving environment in which their psychosocial needs can be met and intergenerational relationships can be developed.

To benefit elders through reconnecting them with children and by offering them the opportunity to nurture.

To benefit staff and the community by providing a new model of child care featuring intergenerational programming.

Each classroom provides a rich, colorful environment with educational equipment to meet each child's need. The staff creates an atmosphere to provide each child the opportunity to develop socially, emotionally, cognitively, and physically on an individual basis.

Program Staff
Under the direction of administrative staff, the classroom personnel provide a quality children's program. Each classroom is staffed by a lead teacher and an early childhood assistant. In addition, the classrooms are enriched by trained senior volunteers to bring a wide spectrum of ages and cultural backgrounds together for the benefit of the young children. The program provides great benefit to all age groups.
